October 1st – International Music Day

On October 1st, in honor of the International Music Day, a concert of young talents will be held in the chamber hall of the Union of Composers of Tajikistan with participation of composers and musicologists.

The Union of Composers of Tajikistan organizes this event in order to promote professional musical art, creating conditions in society for realizing the creative potential of young generation.

International Music Day was established on October 1st, 1973 on the initiative of the International Music Council under UNESCO at the 15th General Assembly in Lausanne. ne of the initiators of this holiday’s establishment was the famous Soviet composer Dmitry Shostakovich.
